Schweitzer Deep Tissue Therapy
In this three day, hands-on workshop in Schweitzer's Deep Tissue Therapy six techniques are introduced that offer the practitioner an opportunity to work at an optimal depth without the risk of injury or repetitive strain. The techniques are coupled with a strong body-mechanical focus such that the participant will learn to use their body to create power and shift the focus from using the hands and arms to using the whole body while forming a powerful connection with the patient being treated.

Course Objectives
  1. To learn to use body mechanics in order to create power from the core of the body in order to relieve the strain on the arms, forearms and shoulders of the practitioner.
  2. To learn to work at a deep level with the highest degree of precision, safety, efficiency and the least amount of effort on the practitioner.
  3. To learn to work in a manner that reduces or eliminates the threat of occupational strain and injury.
  4. To be able to develop a strong connection with your client through effective communication skills and strategies.
I took Gary Schweitzer's "Deep Tissue Therapy" Course in New York and found it to be an invaluable tool in my practice. He taught me how to work deep therapeutically while saving my hands by using my body. I have noticed how many more clients I can see in a day without feeling the exhaustion in my fingers and wrists. My clients are impressed at how much deeper and more specific I can work with them now.

In this three day workshop we will utilize the foundation of the basic level workshop and put the manual techniques and bio-mechanical focus into action. We will be covering three distinction regions of the body. The participant will have an understanding of the common pathological process's of each region and will have an assessment protocol for each region. The participant will then attempt to identify specific functional and structural problems of a fellow participant and fix those problems within the time allotted in the workshop.

This is a skill building workshop and is designed for the graduates of the workshop who wish to use SDTT on a daily basis. The participant whose practice is centered around deep tissue therapy will be the ideal candidate for this intensive workshop.
