In this three day, hands-on workshop in Schweitzer's Deep Tissue Therapy six techniques are introduced that offer the practitioner an opportunity to work at an optimal depth without the risk of injury or repetitive strain. The techniques are coupled with a strong body-mechanical focus such that the participant will learn to use their body to create power and shift the focus from using the hands and arms to using the whole body while forming a powerful connection with the patient being treated.
Course Objectives
To learn to use body mechanics in order to create power from the core of the body in order to relieve the strain on the arms, forearms and shoulders of
the practitioner.
To learn to work at a deep level
with the highest degree of precision, safety, efficiency and
the least amount of effort on the practitioner.
To learn to work in a manner that reduces or eliminates the threat of occupational strain and injury.
To be able to develop a strong
connection with your client through effective communication
skills and strategies.
I took Gary Schweitzer's "Deep Tissue Therapy" Course in New York and found it to be an invaluable tool in my practice. He taught me how to work deep therapeutically while saving my hands by using my body. I have noticed how many more clients I can see in a day without feeling the exhaustion in my fingers and wrists. My clients are impressed at how much deeper and more specific I can work with them now. -Terri Shively, Massage Therapist,
